I 2026, the stakes are higher than ever. Across the world, we are witnessing resurgent authoritarianism, rising religious nationalism, and the rapid spread of anti-science disinformation. In this context, the World Humanist Congress 2026 is focused on transforming humanist principles into practical action and resilient strategies for change.

Organized by Humanists International in partnership with Humanist Canada, the Congress will bring together the global community under the theme: Humanism As Resistance.

The World Humanist Congress is more than an event. It is one of the most significant international gatherings of the humanist, atheist, and secular movement, providing a unique space to exchange ideas, strengthen cooperation, and help shape the future of non-religious ethics and action.

Heidi Nordby Lunde

Whc Speakers Heidiln

Heidi Nordby Lunde joined the Norwegian Humanist Association (HEF) in 2025 as Director of Politics and Public Relations, following 12 years as a Member of the Norwegian Parliament. She is a well-known public figure in Norway, regularly contributing to national debate on issues including tax policy, labour and social affairs, gender equality, and LGBTQI+ rights.

Adrián Núñez

Adrián Núñez is a Peruvian humanist activist and Vice President of the Peruvian Association of Atheists (APERAT), which he co-founded in 2009. His work focuses on challenging religious privilege and promoting freedom of belief and expression. He has led campaigns advancing secularism, critical thinking, and equal rights for non-religious communities, while supporting those facing discrimination.

Roslyn Mould

Roslyn Mould is Vice President of Humanists International and a long-standing humanist leader in West Africa. She coordinates the West African Humanist Network and serves as President of Accra Atheists. Her work focuses on advancing humanism across the region, with expertise spanning freedom of religion or belief, anti-witchcraft advocacy, and environmental awareness.

Evan Clark

Evan Clark is an experienced secular community organiser with over 16 years in movement-building roles. He has served as North American Coordinator for Young Humanists International, Executive Director of Atheists United, and Southern California State Director for American Atheists. He also serves on the board of the American Humanist Association and has contributed to multiple humanist initiatives and media projects.

Maggie Ardiente

Maggie Ardiente is President of Humanists International, elected in 2025 as the first woman of colour to hold the role. She is a former president of the Secular Coalition for America, representing a broad coalition of non-religious organisations advocating for equality and the separation of religion and state.

In addition to an outstanding line-up of speakers, the three-day programme will include panel discussions, live music, networking opportunities, cultural events, and a Gala Dinner.
